January 16, 2004 . and ongoing -- so check again from time to time..

Here are some pictures of the workshop where construction of the RV7 will begin. It is limited in size, so it will only be adequate until I need more room to spread out...

The workshop before cleanup. Will it hold an RV-7 fuselage? I think so. I hope so. It stays 70 degrees winter and summer, but it's only 11 feet wide and 55 feet long (if I count the open storage area at the rear). With more than 20 8' flourescent tubes, there's LOTS of light...

A closeup of one of the air outlets in the shop wall. When I have work benches, I'll have air comming out of the wall right over them. There's plenty of electrical outlets, too.

Ah, yes, I had to show you a picture of the air compressor (behind the door at the back of the shop). Being in its own closet, it's surprisingly quiet. It's a typical single stage (125 psi) model, but with plenty of volume. I was thinking about more pressure and was willing to pay for a 2-stage compressor, but almost everyone told me this one would be more than adequate. I hope so!

Finally, I had to include a picture of the wine cellar (a door at the back of the shop at the right). Since the shop is all underground except for one outside wall (with an 8' x 8' insulated door), the temp is great for a wine cellar (and for working on an RV-7!). The wine celler stays about 10 degrees cooler than the rest of the shop so, if I really need to cool down -- you'll know where to find me.

February 4, 2004 - I made a little progress on a couple of workbench frames. I don't know how many I will build.

I had to sneak in a refrigerator for little breaks...

Here are some shelves my husband added to the back side of the shop. I'm confident I'll find something to put up there.

February 9, 2004 - a little more progress - one of the finished workbenches. It still needs a particalboard top.

The c-frame is built (my hubby deserves the credit here) and ready to put to work.

I added a little laundry sink so I can keep things (like my hands) clean.
